Jeroen Schaffhausen wins the 2013 Belgian Legacy Cup Finals!

Right before Christmas, 86 hopefull players came out to Outpost Antwerp to sling some Magical spells. After a long year filled to the brim with Legacy events, it was time to crown a new Belgian Legacy Cup Champion. Most of the veteran players of the Belgian Legacy scene were present, as well as some international competitors from the Netherlands and Germany. Whoever would take down this event, would have to slug through a veritable murderer’s row of players first. Continue reading

Bart Gielen casts his deadly shadow over Mol

After 2 consecutive victories for Team PPN, it was Bart Gielen who finally managed to put a halt to the Charleroi-based menace. During the trial in Mol last weekend, he proved once again that only one point of life is sufficient to win a match, or even a tournament: the last single one. His winning UB tempo-deck featured some nearly forgotten powerhouses such as Snuff Out and a slew of Phyrexian mana-spells to power out its signature one drop threat, Death’s Shadow. Many may have frowned when seeing this seemly innocuous creature make a splash in Legacy, but all of them eventuelly succombed to the undercosted fatty. Leaving 48 other players standing in his shadow, Bart Gielen left the tournament site victorious and takes home his share of the wonderful prize-pool which was offered by the people at Magic Club Mol.

Top 8 standings and decklists can be viewed here.

With 4 trials in the, books, there’s only one chance left for those who want to score some much-contested byes for the final tournament of the Belgian Legacy Cup. Legacy Club Leuven will host the final trial on November 10th, so make sure you don’t miss it!

Nicolas Noirhomme takes down the trial in Brussels!

Another trial, and another victory for a member of Team PPN. Congratulations to Nicolas Noirhomme, who bested 53 players to emerge as the last one standing at this weekend’s Belgian Legacy Cup Trial at Outpost Brussels! His Zenith Bant list proved well positioned to tackle a combo-heavy metagame, culminating in a 2-1 victory in the finals against none other than Belgian National team-member Marijn Lybaert, piloting ANT.

Check out the top 8 decklists here.

Will anyone be able to stop team PPN from taking down the 2 remaining trials as well? Or will their winning streak continue throughout the season, and maybe even the final event? Join us at the next Belgian Legacy Cup Trial in Mol on October 21st, and find out for yourself!

Cédric De Roeck claims the top spot in Charleroi!

42 players came down to Charleroi this past weeekend to battle, and after six hard-fought rounds of swiss and 2 rounds of  single-elimination cutthroat competition, only two remained. Alexandre Remis from France, piloting the blazingly fast ANT-combo deck and Team PPN’s own Cédric De Roeck, who wielded GW Maverick, decided to split the top prize, with Cédric picking up the two byes for the Belgian Legacy Cup Finals.

Top 8 standings and decklists have been posted here.

We would like to thank everyone who made the trip to Charleroi, and give a special shout-out to Team PPN for organizing their very first BLC Trial in such a great manner.

Join us all on September 23rd, for the next trial for the 2012 Belgian Legacy Cup in Outpost Brussels!
